You’ve changed, your goals can too

It’s November, and maybe, just maybe, a little worry has started creeping in about the goals you set back in January.

I started the year with a plan, too. Big goals, lists, and a clear picture of how I thought things would go. And then... life happened. Right now, my path looks completely different from what I imagined.

And you know what? That’s okay.

One thing I’ve learned this year is that we live different lives in one lifetime. We evolve, our tastes shift, our motivations change, and sometimes that means our goals need to change too.

I’m not the same Golie I was in January. A lot has happened about me, around me, and even in how I see the world. And it only makes sense that my plans would shift with me.

Instead of kicking myself for not hitting every goal, I’ve started moving the net to where I am now. I ask myself: “What matters to me today? What small step can I take that aligns with who I am right now?”

Maybe for you, your goals aren’t career-related. Maybe it’s school, your finances, your health, or even just showing up for yourself in small ways. Whatever it is, it’s okay to adjust the plan. The year isn’t over, and neither is your chance to move forward, just on your own terms.

So if you’ve been feeling that little pang of worry about “falling behind,” try this:

1. Take a deep breath and remind yourself, you’ve grown this year. That counts.

2. Look at your goals and ask, “Does this still feel right for me?”

3. Shift what needs shifting. Celebrate the small wins along the way.

You don’t have to be perfect. You don’t have to match the version of yourself from January. You just have to keep moving forward in a way that feels real and kind to you.

I see you. I’m cheering for you. And I promise, you’ve got this.
