What If You’re Not Behind?
Heyoo people! I'm backkkkkkkkk! Didn't we just say Happy New Year Five Minutes ago? And here we are marching forward in April.
Here's the gist: ever felt like you’re running a race you didn’t sign up for? Like life is zooming past you while everyone else seems to be hitting milestones, unlocking new achievements, and moving forward at full speed? And here you are, wondering if you somehow missed the memo on how to get your life together.
But what if I told you, you’re not behind!
Society makes us believe that life is a checklist:
Graduate by 21
Get a job immediately
Be financially stable by 25
Find "the one" and settle down
Have everything figured out before 30
Just wow! Whose timeline is that? Because that doesn't even look like mine. And who decided that this is the only way life should unfold? The truth is, life doesn’t run on a universal clock.
Everyone moves at their own pace, and just because your journey doesn’t look like someone else’s doesn’t mean you’re failing.
Think about nature; some trees bloom in spring, others in summer. Some take years before they bear fruit, while others grow fast. But does that make one better than the other? No.
Your life is unfolding in its own season. Maybe this is your learning season, where things feel slow because you’re still gathering the wisdom and skills you’ll need for the next chapter. Maybe this is your healing season, where progress isn’t about achievements but about overcoming battles no one else sees.
Whatever season you’re in, it’s valid, and it’s preparing you for what’s ahead.
Instead of asking, “Why am I behind?” try asking:
“What is this season teaching me?”
“What small progress have I made that I haven’t acknowledged?”
“What if everything is falling into place, even if I can’t see it yet?”
Because the reality is, you’re still moving forward. Every lesson, every experience, every challenge is shaping you. Your growth may not always be so loud like Benz, but that doesn’t mean it’s not happening.
Trust your journey. Honor your pace. Life is not a competition, and as long as you’re moving, even if it’s slower than you expected, you are making progress.
