What do you have?
How many times have you felt like what you have is insignificant or insufficient? I mean how many times have you felt your gifts and talents are just little compared to what you perceive of your friends, siblings or people you see on the media space?
Often, we underestimate the impact we can create, thinking we need more influence, money, or resources to be of value. But in reality, even the smallest gifts or abilities can transform lives.
Consider someone with a skill for listening and empathy. They might feel that, compared to others with material resources, they have little to offer. Yet, a conversation or supportive presence can be life-changing for someone going through a difficult time.
Allow me to take you through a journey to a particular kingdom. A King once called his three servants and bestowed upon them varied gifts. To one he gave five, to another he gave two and to the third he gave one.
The third servant might have thought, “Omo, how I wish I was the first servant, why was I given just one? What can this one thing solve?” While he was busy complaining, the other two servants utilized what was given to them and in return they got rewarded with more gifts.
But guess what happened to the third servant? He got rebuked and that singular gift that he had, was taken away from him. And that’s on periodt!
Your one seed/gift/talent is significant. Our “little” can be a lot when shared with purpose and intention. Whether it’s time, a skill, or a kind word, the resources within our reach are often enough to uplift, inspire, and bless others in ways we may never fully realize.
In the words of Kirk Franklin, "Whatever gift you have, no matter how little or insignificant you might feel it is, it is more than enough”
