- Thoughts Are Just Thoughts
Thoughts Are Just Thoughts
Thoughts are just thoughts. They are not orders. They are not prophecies. They are not facts carved into stone. They are more like pop-up ads: loud, persistent, and often irrelevant.
Some mornings, my mind wakes up already running commentary. Worries, old memories, and imaginary problems that haven’t paid rent in my life for years. But the quiet truth is, I don’t have to believe everything I think.
I have the power to pause. To notice a thought without letting it take the wheel. To ask, is this helpful? Is this true? Is this kind? And if the answer is no, I can choose another one. Not instantly. Not perfectly. Just gently.
Changing thoughts isn’t about force. It’s about practice. It's about redirecting, like guiding a tired child back to bed. One breath. One moment. One better thought at a time.
This morning, I remember that my mind is a tool, not a dictator. And I get to decide how I use it.
