This Thing Called Life

Life can seem so scattered at times, no? Everything’s all over the place, and literally nothing is going right. Crisis is oppressive like that: our legs feel so tired, we seek distraction from the screens, and we dread every new day.

People often say there is light at the end of the tunnel, but the tunnel seems so long. Will it ever end? Why do I deserve this? Others seem to be having a blast, so why?

Over the years, I’ve discovered a secret, though. Everybody has or is walking through a tunnel, each with its own form.

The world continues to throw things down our tunnels, thinking it can make us back down, but I’ll never back down. That light is out there, I know it is. So you and I can’t give up now, because there really is light at the end of the tunnel; we have to keep on pushing, keep on seeking, and we will get to that light.

I don’t know who’ll get there first—it’s not a race—but if you happen to get there first, you make sure to give a good echo down my tunnel, and I’ll do the same.

Take the tunnel day by day. Stay strong, friend.
