Things won’t change until you do
In my last email, I told you I moved to a new city and I was struggling to find my feet.
I won’t lie — I’m still struggling.
Between work, my PPA, getting lost every now and then (don’t judge, I’m new here), and trying to adjust... it’s been a lot.
And for a while, I was just sitting in it.
Feeling displaced, disconnected, and waiting for it to “click.”
But I realized something uncomfortable: This move will not magically become meaningful on its own.
If I’m not intentional, I could live here for months and still feel new. Still feel outside of it all.
So I took out my notebook and decided to make small changes.
This month:
– I’ll attend at least one networking event.
– I’ll say yes to at least two hangouts.
It doesn’t sound like a lot.
But if I follow through, that’s three times I stepped outside my comfort zone.
Three rooms entered. New conversations started. Seeds planted.
And that’s how roots begin, a repetition of small decisions.
What does this mean for you?
Things rarely change because we wish them to. They change because we move.
It’s easy to complain, overthink and wait for motivation. To hope things improve on their own.
But sometimes the shift you’re waiting for is on the other side of one intentional decision.
One event, One conversation, One “yes.”
You don’t need to overhaul your life this month.
Just pick something small, specific and follow through.
Small changes compound.
And one day, you’ll look up and realize you’re no longer trying to belong, you’ve built something.
With love,
