The most underrated thing to exist—Self Care.
Hey Besties, I don’t mean your usual baths, oh!
What does self-care mean to you? Recently, I learned that we all have our windows of tolerance, a psychological space where we feel balanced and regulated. When life pushes us out of that window, stress, anxiety, or even burnout, self-care becomes one of the greatest tools to guide us back to balance.
Self-care is not just bubble baths, scented candles, or face masks (though those are nice, love that for you). It’s about meeting your deepest needs, whether that’s setting boundaries, saying “no” without guilt, resting without feeling lazy, and choosing yourself even when it’s hard. You don't have to "have money" to care for yourself. Sometimes Self-care can look like journaling your emotions, taking a walk to clear your mind, or simply pausing to breathe.
So, what does self-care look like for you? Is it through movement, creativity, silence, or connection? Whatever it looks like for you, remember it’s valid. You don’t need permission to put yourself first. Self-care isn’t selfish; It’s the way we refill our cup so we can pour into others, and into the things that truly matter.
Take a moment today, no matter how small, and ask yourself: What do I need right now? Then honor that need.
All my love,
Olamide from MANI
