The Lights of our Lives
Watching the news can be so heartbreaking sometimes. Images of the ever-growing wickedness of humanity appear on my screen day after day, and I wonder: when will it end? But today I saw something very interesting on Instagram: a page called ‘yourpositivenews’ that gives you news of positive events around the world. And it really warmed my heart to see that in all the chaos around us, people still cradle a bright orb of light in their hands, and they offer it to others, hoping it will shine some light on their hearts, too.
My message today is a short one. There will always be light in our lives. Those little moments of fleeting joy, a comedic memory of youth when we knew innocence, a colourful butterfly on a flower, the pure laughs we share with friends and family. These little flickers of light are as precious as ever, so let us hold on to them. Even in darkest times, let us remember the lights of brighter times; they will give us the strength to forge ahead.
Again and again, I realise that we must never bring darkness to the lives of others. I know light will shine again.
