The Great Subconscious
I recently read somewhere that our thoughts, feelings and emotions are influenced to a very large degree by our subconscious mind. That’s why we sometimes say, “Oh, I don’t know why I feel this way, I just do, and it is what it is”.
The subconscious does not really argue with you; it just observes, records, and eventually plays back whatever it is fed over time. It shapes our daily lives; how we react, think, and even some of the choices we make. More often than not, this tends to manifest as patterns that aren’t always healthy.
The beauty, though, is that, when we become more aware of this “background influence” and start to recognise those patterns, especially unhealthy ones, we can gently begin to rewrite them. Awareness gives us space to pause. Instead of reacting on autopilot, we can choose differently, and more importantly, we can be more intentional about what we feed our subconscious going forward.
All my love,
