The Best Validation Comes From Within
External validation feels good. There's no denying that. A kind word from someone you respect, a like on something you worked hard on, a friend saying, "I see you." It matters. It lifts you up.
But here's what I've learned. If you rely on that to feel okay, you will always be at the mercy of other people's moods, attention spans, and availability. What happens when they're busy? What happens when they don't notice? You're left empty-handed.
Internal validation is different. It lives inside you. It's the quiet voice that says "I showed up today" even when no one clapped. It's the feeling of knowing you tried your best even when the result wasn't perfect. That kind of validation doesn't disappear when your phone is silent.
Think about a lizard for a second. When it jumps down from a wall, it doesn't wait around for applause. It just nods its head and moves on. That's the energy. Do the thing, acknowledge yourself, and keep going.
External validation is nice. Internal validation is necessary. When you have the second one, the first one becomes a bonus, not a need. And that is a much lighter way to live.
