Staying Grounded In Uncertainty

We seem to be living in the most uncertain of times. On a daily basis, there are a thousand and ten things competing for your attention, and as such, it is easy for us to lose touch with ourselves.

When things are uncertain, it is perfectly normal to feel worried. But the key is not to let yourself get consumed by these worries.

One thing that can help is differentiating between productive and unproductive worrying. If there is something you can actually do about it, then focus on that. But if there is nothing you can do about it, then you shouldn't be losing sleep over it.

Granted, it’s not like you can just switch your thoughts off, but you can pause and ask yourself, “Is there anything I can do about this right now?”

Another thing that helps is creating small routines. It doesn't have to be anything elaborate, just little things like going for a walk at a particular time every day. This will add some structure and give some sense of control amid all the chaos.

At the end of the day, staying grounded in uncertainty is not about having all the answers. It is about returning to what is steady and within your control, again and again. Focusing on what is in front of you, doing what you can and letting that be enough.
