Read this the next time you feel not enough

Hey, you, have you ever noticed how the voice in your head can sometimes be the harshest one in the room?

The one that points out every mistake, every flaw, every “not enough.”

It’s funny because if a friend came to you with those same worries, you’d probably be kind. You’d reassure them. You’d remind them they’re doing their best. But when it comes to yourself, the words get sharper.

Here’s something I want you to try:

Next time that inner critic shows up, pause and ask, “Would I say this to someone I love?”

If the answer is no, then you don’t need to say it to yourself either.

Instead, what if you spoke to yourself like you would to a friend, patient, forgiving, and gentle? What if you let yourself be a work in progress without calling it failure?

Start small.

  • When you catch yourself saying, “I messed up,” try adding, “...but I’m learning.”

  • When you think, “I’m behind,” try, “I’m moving at my own pace.”

  • When you feel, “I’m not enough,” whisper back, “I am worthy, as I am.”

It won’t change overnight. But little by little, you teach yourself that you deserve kindness too.

So the next time that harsh voice shows up, remember: you’re not your mistakes, you’re not your fears. You’re someone finding their way. And that’s more than enough.

I’m rooting for you. Always.
