Not Everything Deserves a Reaction
The street of Twitter/X as we often say is toxic. If you're looking for the HQ of "Gbas Gbos", just take a stroll down to X. If there's one thing I've learnt, it's that some things are just not worth your energy.
That comment someone made about you?
That person trying to get under your skin?
That thing you saw online that instantly annoyed you?
Your first instinct might be to clap back, defend yourself, or prove a point, but here’s a reality check: Not everything deserves your reaction.
Every time you react to negativity, drama, or things outside your control, you’re spending emotional energy. The more you engage, the more drained you feel. And the worst part? The person or situation that triggered you still has control over your emotions.
So ask yourself: “Is this worth my energy?” Because sometimes, the best response is no response at all.
Maturity isn’t about reacting to everything that bothers you. It’s about choosing where and when to invest your energy. Your peace is too expensive to waste. Think of your time and energy as currency. Would you spend your last money on something worthless? No? Then stop spending your peace on things that don’t deserve it.
Not every comment needs a reply.
Not every argument needs a response.
And truthfully while problem solving is great, not every problem is yours to fix.
So the next time someone or something tries to pull you into chaos, choose silence, choose grace, choose peace. Because honestly? Not everything deserves a reaction.
