Men Mount

Today is majorly for men! We got you! We mount!

Delectable Gentlemen, grab a seat.

In Nigeria, we often hear the phrase “Men mount,” which refers to men stepping up to take on the weight of family, society, and financial pressures. But in a world that constantly expects men to be strong, we forget the cost- mental health.

Many men feel like they can’t show vulnerability, as they’re expected to “handle” life without complaint. This often leads to silent suffering, as the pressure to appear strong outweighs the need to talk about mental struggles. But honestly, real strength isn’t about carrying the load alone, it’s about recognizing when the load is too heavy and asking for help.

On this International Men’s Day, let’s redefine what it means to “mount.” Strength isn’t just about taking on more; it’s about knowing when to take a step back and care for your mental well-being. It’s time to normalize men opening up, seeking therapy, and sharing their challenges. Men don’t have to suffer in silence to be seen as strong.

Mental health is part of survival, just like paying bills or supporting family. Prioritizing your mind is key to thriving, not just surviving. This Men’s Day, let’s champion not just the physical, but also the emotional and mental resilience of men.

Men, remember: you’re allowed to pause, breathe, and ask for help. Men mount, but you don’t have to do it all alone.
