Love, Chocolate, and a Little Bit of Sanity
Valentine’s Day! The one day when romance gets all the attention, and singles brace for a day filled with heart-shaped chocolates they didn’t ask for and 'couple goals' posts they don’t need to see (we’re busy pretending not to care, by the way).
But let’s be clear: while hearts, chocolates, and flowers are sweet, true love doesn’t just come in a box. It’s the love you give yourself every day.
Self-love is often the most underrated relationship. Have you checked in on YOU lately? Have you been kind to yourself the way you’d be to someone you love? Because self-love isn’t just bubble baths and face masks (although, yes, those help). It’s setting boundaries, speaking kindly to yourself, and knowing that your worth isn’t tied to your relationship status.
If today feels lonely, remember: your value isn’t measured by how many roses you receive or don’t. It’s in your kindness, your resilience, and your ability to find joy in the little things, like a perfectly crispy plantain or finding extra cash in your old jeans. Small wins matter.
And guess what? Tomorrow is Saturday! So if you can’t take the time you need today, you get another chance to rest, reset, and remind yourself just how amazing you are. 💚
