Let’s have it...
I vividly recall the day I joined the Rumination Writers team at MANI. My friend, Anna reshared my post from MANI with the caption, “Someone is about to shake tables again- The very best writer out there.” Lol, I actually don’t think I’m the very best writer out there, however, I try my best. That compliment was a moral boost and an encouragement for me. I've carried it with me ever since.
That's the thing about acknowledgement, it has the power to inspire, motivate, and change lives. Yet, we often assume our appreciation is obvious, leaving people wondering if their efforts are noticed or valued.
Life's unpredictability reminds us to express gratitude today, not tomorrow. Public recognition inspires others, strengthens relationships, and leaves a lasting legacy.
Recently, I witnessed a beautiful display of acknowledgement at an acquaintance exhibition. As people admired her work, they shared stories of how she'd inspired them. The room was filled with laughter, tears, and a sense of community.
That's the magic of giving people their flowers while they're here. It's not just about recognition; it's about connection.
Take a moment to thank someone who's made a difference in your life. Most times by default, we tend to say all those mushy things when it’s their birthday. Don’t wait! Write a note, send a message, or simply say, "Thank you." You never know the impact your words might have.
Let's create a culture where appreciation flows freely, inspiring others to bloom.
As Chimamanda Adichie aptly puts it, “Never admire quietly…It’s important to give people their flowers while they’re here.”
