Let Go to Grow
Lately, I’ve been sitting with the idea that the longer we entertain what’s not for us, the longer we delay what is. It hit differently this time. Maybe you’ve felt it too, holding on to things, people, or paths that no longer feel aligned, simply because they’re familiar. Not necessarily because they serve us, but because they’ve become part of our routine.
I thought about how often we mistake proving ourselves for progress. Like a gardener desperate to be seen, we clip our own blooming flowers, our wins, and our peace just to show we know what we’re doing. But at what cost? I’ve done that. Maybe you have too. It’s exhausting.
And there’s something about the past; it’s heavy, isn’t it? Carrying all those bricks: the memories, the mistakes, the unhealed parts. Sometimes we don’t realise we’re using them to build the same story over and over again. I caught myself doing that, and it made me wonder, what would happen if I put the bricks down?
This isn’t advice. Just thoughts, shared in case you’ve been feeling the same. Maybe we’re all learning that to grow something real, we have to stop uprooting ourselves to prove we belong.
Maybe that’s enough.
