Ho Ho Hold Up: The Year Isn’t Over Yet!

Ah, it is another December in our beloved Nigeria, Detty December calls out to us, and WhatsApp statuses are flooded with “God when?” moments.

But amidst the owambes and harmattan mornings, I know there’s that sneaky pressure to account for the entire year. “What did I achieve?” “Did I move forward?”

Here’s a friendly reminder: You don’t have to let societal timelines define your progress. Life isn’t a race to December 31st. Maybe this year was about learning tough lessons, getting through tough days, or simply being tough enough to keep going. And that’s okay! Some years are for planting seeds, not harvesting results.

So, ho ho hold up on the panic(Please tell me you caught what I did there). You’ve made it through the year; rising fuel prices, ever-inflating cost of living and on top of that, the very horrible network we’ve been dealing with lately, trust me, you’ve done enough.

Celebrate the little wins. Whether you’re flexing or finessing your way into 2025, know that growth doesn’t come with a deadline. Enjoy your party rice, dance to the amapiano, and toast to surviving and thriving. Because sometimes, being here is the greatest achievement of all.
