Happy Children’s Day!
Ah, Children’s Day! The one day we get to remember what it was like to be free from adulting, bills, and the constant existential dread of “What’s for dinner?” Kids have it made. They wake up, eat snacks, make questionable fashion choices, and ask tough questions like, “Why is the sky blue?” and “Can I have ice cream for breakfast?” (Answer: Yes, yes, you can.)
It’s easy to forget how simple life was when we were kids and by simple, I mean when the hardest decision of the day was whether to play outside or binge-watch cartoons. Now, we’re all trying to figure out which data plan won’t send us back to the village.
See, kids teach us how to enjoy the small stuff. A puddle can be an ocean, a stick can be a sword, and a box can become a rocket ship. They remind us that life doesn’t have to be so complicated.
So, to those of us who are still kids at heart, who dare to dream big, laugh freely, and enjoy cereal straight from the box. May we always hold on to that bit of magic within us.
And for the parents? May you find 5 minutes of peace today… or at least hide in the bathroom with your phone for a moment.
Happy Children’s Day!
