Don’t equate silence to peace
I have an aversion to addressing conflicts, don’t ask me why, but I know I’m not alone. I convinced myself that when I keep quiet, all is well, how wrong was I.
Many times we equate silence with peace, however we don’t realize the silence is filled with many unresolved things and unanswered questions and concerns that as we keep leaving them there, can lead to a whole other world of problems for us.
It’s okay to talk and address certain issues sometimes. It could feel scary but with practice, it gets better.
Nothing rots a relationship faster than issues left unresolved or unaddressed. I understand it’s hard when you’re like me and avoids conflicts but learning to address issues is a major part of a relationship, especially as conflicts are important for relationships. They help relationships grow stronger and they also help us develop our character better.
I’m going to start speaking up more, I’m hoping you join me.
