Community
The idea behind depending on other people for certain things is rather unsettling, right? If you had your way, you would always do things for yourself by yourself so as not to give others the opportunity to see your vulnerability when you depend on them to get things done.
Believe me, I get you!
However, life is quite the opposite. We were created to need each other, to depend on each other. They say no man is an island, and it’s so true. We all get weak, tired, in need of help or support sometimes, and this is what community is for. People from whom you can draw strength, when yours is lacking or when you’re too weak to carry yourself. Where the memories you’ve created together help you see that there is some good in the world after all. A place where you can finally take the mask off after acting tough with the rest of the world.
Various studies have shown that those who have some sort of community/support system are less likely to suffer mental illnesses than those who do not, and it’s obvious why.
I really hope that you find your tribe and lean more into the gift that is community.
