Busybodies of Christmas
It's the holiday season, a time to reconnect with friends and family you haven't seen all year. With these gatherings comes not only joy and excitement but also, unfortunately, unwanted attention, gossip and unsolicited advice.
Some people (the busybodies) might share their opinions on your matters mildly or harshly. Either way, it might infuriate you, hurt you, leave you uncertain of yourself or all of the above!
People like to give advice, even when they're not asked to. The good thing is, we don't always have to listen to them. You can show gratitude especially if the advice comes from a trusted person, pick the positive ones you want, for the negative, don't let it dwell in your mind and cause you to doubt yourself.
Trust your judgement. Focus on your needs. Remind yourself why you made those decisions being critiqued in the first place. If they keep bugging you, firmly and politely set your boundaries. You don't owe anyone for what's best for you.
Have a lovely holiday! 💚
