Before you give up on your goals...

Hey you,

Does January ever start with so much hope... and then somehow turn overwhelming really fast?

You enter the year with big dreams and good intentions. You want to do better, be better and before the month even goes halfway, you’re already tired. If that’s you, I want you to pause for a second.

I want to share Something that’s helped me recently is changing how I set goals.

Instead of making a long list of things I want to achieve, I started by picking a few themes, the main areas of my life I want to focus on this year. Things like growth, health, learning, etc.

Then I asked myself a simple question: What would I like these areas to look like by the end of the year?

After that, I wrote down what would actually make those changes possible, and this part matters; I stayed honest about my current reality. I didn’t promise myself five workouts a week when I know my health and schedule won’t allow it. I didn’t set goals that look good on paper but don’t fit my life.

Once I did that, I broke the year into quarters. And each month, I picked just 2-3 things per theme to focus on.

That was it.

Suddenly, my goals stopped feeling like a mountain and started feeling like a simple to-do list.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by your goals right now, maybe try this:

  • Choose a few themes that matter to you.

  • Be honest about where you are.

  • Start small. Smaller than you think you should.

  • Focus on this month, not the whole year.

You don’t need to rush the year to prove anything. Consistency grows best when there’s room to breathe. I hope this helps you the way it helped me. I’m rooting for you, always.
