Be a light even in the shadows

I had a favorite teacher while I was in secondary school. She taught Agricultural science. She really was everyone’s favorite. She often walked in with a warm smile and a passion for teaching that was infectious.

Her approach to teaching was truly unique. She didn’t just impart knowledge, she inspired, guided and motivated. Little wonder why I’m still in touch with her even after more than a decade of leaving secondary school.

Today as I think about her, I realize that what she embodies isn’t just for teachers alone. It’s really for anyone who wants to make a difference.

It’s about shining our lights everywhere we are or go.

It’s about helping others achieve more.

It’s about understanding and relating to others’ perspectives, focusing on growth and progress not necessarily perfection.

It’s a great time to embody these even as we stride into the weekend. May it be a catalyst for positive change and personal growth.
