Adulting again? Abeg, Can We Chill?
Ah, adulthood! That one place where wahala seems to multiply, bills are like flies that won’t go away, and the only thing less appealing than cooking is... well, doing anything else! I understand being a responsible adult is part of the game, but must we do this every single day?
Let’s talk about the daily hustle. You wake up, and before you finish your first cup of coffee, responsibilities start piling up like rice in a pot. Make breakfast? No wahala! But that’s just the beginning of a long list of things that feels like it needs a manual. And don’t even get me started on grocery shopping, how did I go from “just picking up a few things” to “buying everything that can keep me alive for the week”?
Then there’s work, the true test of our adulting skills. You sit in meetings where “synergy” and “let’s circle back” become the orders of the day, and you nod along, pretending you understand anything. “Yes, let’s maximize our deliverables! That’s the adult way!”
And just when you think you’ve survived the day, PHCN decides it’s time for another power cut, reminding you that adulting comes with its own set of challenges. Can we negotiate a break, please? I propose “responsible adulting” days, maybe every other day? That way, we can all catch our breath.
So while I understand that adulting is part of life, can we ease up a bit sometimes? We all deserve a break from the seriousness! To find joy in the little moments and maybe treat ourselves to a delicious parfait on the regular! 🍓🥣
